Career

Anderson began his career in 2000 at the Corinthians club, he played for this team for five seasons, having spent 115 matches and scoring 3 goals. As part of Timao , Anderson won the first Club World Cup in 2000, won the Paulista League in 2001 and the Rio São Paulo tournament and the Brazil Cup in 2002.

On June 2, 2005, Anderson signed a contract with the Portuguese “ Benfica ”, his debut in the new team took place on August 20, 2005 in a match against the club “ Academica di Coimbra ”. Anderson quickly became a player in the base of the Encarnados , forming a bunch in the center of the team’s defense with another Brazilian - Luizao . As part of Benfica, Anderson won the Portuguese Championship in 2005.

Anderson left Benfica in 2007 for the reason that he wanted to play in the position of the left central defender (this place was occupied by Luizao), and not the right central, where he usually had to act. [1] At first Anderson wanted to move to Cruzeiro and even trained with this team for 9 days in August 2007, but Benfica requested $ 3 million for the player’s transfer, and Cruzeiro’s management did not agree to pay that amount. The leaders of Lyon agreed to this amount, to which the Brazilian preferred St. Petersburg Zenit [2] . He spent only 12 games for the club, after which, in January 2008, in a game with Le Mans , he injured his knee tendons and was out of action before the end of the season [3] .

In 2008, Anderson went on loan to Sao Paulo , then played for Cruzeiro , and then returned to Lyon. On August 20, 2010, Anderson, by mutual agreement, terminated the contract with the club [4] .

In 2011, Anderson resumed his career in Brazil, played for the Santo Andre club for six months, then a year for America Mineiro . In 2012, he moved to Parana , where he completed his playing career at the end of 2013.

Brazil national team

Anderson spent 1 friendly match in the Brazilian national team , on April 25, 2005 against the Guatemalan national team , and scored a goal in it already in the 4th minute of the game (as a result, the Brazilians won 3-0). Despite the successful debut, Anderson was not called up to the national team anymore.
