About Quick Look
Before the Quick Look, when viewing files in the Finder, you could see the icons with their contents. Quick Look allows the user to see the contents of the file in the Finder "on the fly" in full size.
Quick Look can view the following file types: PDF , HTML , QuickTime , ASCII and RTF text, Apple Keynote , Pages and Numbers , ODF documents, Microsoft Word , Excel , and PowerPoint (including OOXML ), Raw and others.
The Quick Look technology is part of Mac OS X 10.5 . Its interaction with other technologies can be seen on the example of iChat Theater , Time Machine , Cover Flow in Finder .
Use
To view a file, select it and press the spacebar or the Quick Look icon ((File> Quick Look, Cmd-Y)) in the Finder window. The file being viewed will be displayed in a new, automatically created system window on the screen of your computer. To close the file being viewed, press the spacebar again.
