Biography
Salomon Reinach was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye , studied at the Higher Normal School in Paris. In 1879 he joined the French archaeological school in Athens. He made significant discoveries in Mirin (Mysia) near Smyrna ( Turkey ) in 1880 - 1882 , in Kim ( Eolida ) in 1881 , on the islands of Thassos , Imbros and Lesbos ( 1882 ), in Carthage and Meninx ( 1883 - 1884 ), Odessa (1893) and in other places. Member of the Institute of France [2] . Dreyfusar .
He headed the Gallo-Roman Museum in his native city, which he brought to an exemplary order; in 1889-1895 published the catalog of the museum, in which for the first time he strictly carried out the principle of illustrating with pictures of all monuments without exception, which was later borrowed by the scientific catalogs of many other museums [3] .
Salomon Reinach died in 1932 and was buried in the Montmartre Cemetery in Paris .
