History

The musical group Yearning was formed at the turn of 1994/1995 by two musicians - guitarist and vocalist Juhani Palomäki and drummer T. Kristian. Initially, their creative team was called Flegethon . A similar name was borrowed from the divine comedy of Dante Alighieri . [1] After composing several songs and lengthy rehearsals, the band joined the guitarist Tero Kalliomaki with whom in 1995 recorded their debut demo Trough the Desolate Lands . The demo, in terms of music, was close to death metal with atmospheric effects. In July of the same year, at the MDM-studio in Tampere , the group began recording a second demo tape, called The Temple of Sagal . The music of the demo took on new shades, in particular, clean vocals, an acoustic guitar, a lot of keyboards appeared, and the mood of the music acquired a pronounced melancholy shade.

The Temple of Sagal attracted the attention of the Holy Records music label, with which a contract was signed for the release of releases. After the conclusion of the contract, the name of the group changes to Yearning , a new bass player comes to the group - Mr. Woodland. Dalle group begins recording their debut album, called With Tragedies Adorned , in the famous studio Tico-Tico Studio . Autumn Funeral entered the collection of The Holy Bible and has recommended bands around the world. [1] The album was released on February 28, 1997. In the same year, the group recorded the song Eternal for the tribute album to the group Paradise Lost called As We Die For ... Paradise Lost . After recording, the songs of the Yearning go on a European tour with the groups Nightfall and SUP in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and France. After the tour, the band members almost immediately went to Tico-Tico Studio and by the fall of 1998 recorded the second full-length album Plaintive Scenes , which was released in 1999. After the release of the album, many members leave the group, as a result of which two founders Juhani Palomäki and T. Kristian remain in it. However, this did not stop the participants and by 2000 the material of the third Frore Meadow album was recorded, all instruments on which, with the exception of drums, were recorded by Palomaki. The album cover was created by JP Fournier.

In support of the album, a small tour was made, for which three session participants were invited - guitarist Matti S., bassist Loikas and keyboardist Jouni JN. The group, together with Gloomy Grim and Misanthrope, played concerts in France. The members of the group decide to record their next Evershade album in the new studio - Astia Studio, with the famous metal producer Anssi Kippo.

On May 15, 2010, group leader Juhani Palomyaki was found dead. At the time of his death, he was 32 years old. Along with this, the group automatically ceased its activities. [2]
