Western Sahara Football Team - The national football team of Western Sahara , managed by the Western Sahara Football Association . Western Sahara is not a member of FIFA or CAF . The national team is a member of the NF-Board . She held her first official match in 1988 with the French club Le Mans . Due to the conflict in Western Sahara, their home stadium in El Aaiun is in Moroccan-occupied territory. In these conditions, friendlies were played only abroad or even in Sahara refugee camps.

History
Origins (1984-2003)
Many teams represented Western Sahara in unofficial matches against Algerian League teams in 1986, before the creation of the Western Sahara Football Association . In 1986, 1987 and 1994, friendly matches were played (at the club level) against Algerian, Spanish and Italian teams from local leagues. In 1988, the Sahara Republic team played with Le Mans in France, losing 3–2. On February 27, 2001, during the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of SADR (Sahara Arab Democratic Republic), the match was played in the Sahara refugee camps in Tindouf ( Algeria ) between the team of the Sahara Republic and the national team of the Basque Country veterans. The match, which was watched by more than 4 thousand fans, was stopped in the second half with a score of 2-2.
NF-Board (since 2003)
On December 12, 2003, the Western Sahara Football Association became the first federation temporarily affiliated with the NF-Board . In 2007, the Western Sahara team won their first victory, beating the Macau team with a minimum score. December 3, 2011 in Teo ( Spain ), the Galicia team defeated (2-1) Western Sahara. On December 5, 2009, three representatives of Western Sahara participated in the 6th NF-Board General Assembly in Paris .
Recognition
On March 25, 2012, Mohamed Mulud Mohamed Fadel, Minister of Youth and Sports, announced the official creation of the Western Sahara team, stating that “the reason for the absence of the team in African football competitions is related to its non-membership in the CAF .”
