Ski Jumping at the 2006 Winter Olympics

On the big springboard, the Austrian Thomas Morgenstern won against his compatriot Andreas Kofler only 0.1 points in the fight for gold.

Russian Dmitry Vasiliev was in the lead after the first jump of the final on a normal springboard, but in the second he showed only 13th result and took the final 10th place. Thomas Morgenstern and Janne Ahonen, who shared the second place after the first jump, were also unable to get into the top five.

The Russian national team took 8th place in team jumps.

Normal Springboard K-95 Individual Championship

The ski jumping qualification round was held on February 11th. The competition was attended by 69 athletes who completed one attempt. The jumpers, occupying the first 15 places in the overall World Cup standings, received prequalified status and guaranteed themselves to be in the finals, where 35 more athletes qualified for the qualifying round.

Representatives of 8 teams made one attempt, and representatives of the best 8 teams made the second attempt based on the results of the first attempt.
