Live in Montreux 69 is a live album from the British band Deep Purple , released in 2006 . The album is a recording of a concert on October 4, 1969 in Montreux . It is noteworthy that the concert took place in the very hall that burned down at the end of 1971 , when the group recorded the album Machine Head .
