Creation History
On January 1, 1938, in the house of Kashirin, the writer's grandfather, the Gorky Museum of Children was opened . M. In 1956, the museum administration decided to install a monument to Gorky in the museum courtyard. At the competition, the project was won by A. Kikin. The opening of the monument took place in 1957 .
Description of the monument
The impetuous, dreamy boy Alyosha Peshkov with a book in his hands, through which he learns the world of kindness and justice, is what the future writer in a sculpture made of white marble looks like .
