Round, Leonid Davidovich

Leonid Davidovich Tur (real name - Tubelsky ; 1905 - 1961 ) - Soviet playwright and screenwriter. Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the first degree ( 1950 ).

Biography

L. D. Tubelsky was born on March 29 ( April 11 ), 1905 , in the town of Tagancha (now Kanevsky district , Cherkasy region , Ukraine ). He studied at the Leningrad Institute of Oriental Cultures. With P. L. Ryzhey , the Tour brothers entered the well-known creative tandem. Since 1932 they have been working in the cinema. Contributed to the development of the Soviet adventure drama genre. Based on their play “Confrontation”, Yu. K. Olesha wrote the script for the film “The Error of the Engineer Cochin ” ( 1939 ). During the Great Patriotic War, a front-line correspondent for the Stalin Falcon newspaper.

L. D. Tour died on February 14, 1961 . He was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery (plot number 5).
