Combat Service
Since July 2007, the ship has been part of the Seventh Fleet of the US Navy , which is based in the Japanese port of Yokosuka .
On June 13, 2011, the destroyer intercepted a North Korean ship suspected of transporting ballistic missile components. After inspecting the cargo, the transport ship was forced to return to the home port in the DPRK [3] .
On December 5, 2018, the destroyer defiantly marched near the base of the Pacific Fleet of Russia in the area of Peter the Great Bay , thereby the US Navy challenged the Russian Federation’s excessive sea claims in the region [4] .
