Mikymauzoleum

Mikymauzoleum is the first studio album by Czech artist Jaromir Nogavitsa , released in 1993 . The disc was recorded and mixed in the studio of Karel Plikhal in the city of Olomouc in February-May 1993. This work was a great breakthrough for the musician, not only creatively, but also psychologically: Nogavitsa managed to get rid of alcohol dependence and continue her work, and the disc began a kind of confirmation that the musician has something to say after the velvet revolution .

About the album

Despite the fact that Nogavitsa is the author of all songs, except for the music for the song “Mikymauz”, which he wrote together with Karel Plichal, as well as the music for the song “Dolní Lhota”, written together with Josef Streichl, he does not play on this disc either on one instrument , but only performs songs. The arrangement of all the songs, which was innovative for that time, was also performed by Karel Plichal. The song “Hrdina nebo dezertér” was written on October 5, 1985 for a theatrical production based on the novel “ Live and Remember ” ( «ij a nezapomínej ) by Valentin Rasputin , but the performance never saw the light of day. On the cover of the disc is used the photo of Jindřich Streit “Firefighters”, on which you can see the famous Czech bard Karel Kryl and Mirek Topolanek . The backdrop for the photograph was the linocut of Michal Tsikhlarzh, which depicts a large number of small red shorts. Initially, besides this, it depicted mouse paws and tails intertwined with each other - a kind of “ paraphrase ” by Mickey Mouse , but the day before the cover was printed, the Czech representative of Walt Disney threatened with a large fine for using the mouse image, and thus the cover accepted your final look.
