Imshenetskiy, Alexander Iosifovich

Alexander Iosifovich Imshenetskiy (1807–1896) - statesman and military leader of the Russian Empire, lieutenant general, participant in the Russian-Turkish war of 1828–1829 and the suppression of the uprising in Poland in 1831.

Biography

Born in 1807.

He entered the military service on December 14, 1824.

In 1827 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne 4th degree "For Courage". He took part in the Russian-Turkish war of 1828-1829 and the suppression of the uprising in Poland in 1830-1831 .

Under Emperor Alexander Nikolaevich Ishmenetsky served in the department of the State Horse Breeding, was the head of the Strelets State Horse Factory and then a member of the council of the Main Directorate of the State Horse Breeding. April 4, 1865 promoted to major general and December 14, 1874 - to lieutenant general.

In the early 1880s he was credited to the reserve.

He died in St. Petersburg on May 22, 1896, was buried in the Smolensk Orthodox Cemetery.

Among other awards, Imshenetskiy had the following orders:

  • Order of St. Anne of the 4th degree (1827)
  • Polish Insignia for Military Dignity ( Virtuti Militari ) 4th Degree (1831)
  • Order of St. George 4th degree (November 26, 1850, for the immaculate length of service for 25 years in officer ranks, No. 8528 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov).
  • Order of St. Stanislav 2nd degree (1859)
  • Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree (1864)
  • Order of St. Vladimir 3rd degree (1867)
  • Order of St. Stanislav 1st degree (1869)
  • Order of St. Anne 1st degree (1872)
