The Chuvash State Institute of Culture and Arts is a budgetary educational institution of higher education of the Ministry of Culture, Nationalities and Archival Affairs of the Chuvash Republic. The Institute is training higher professional education, taking into account the characteristics of the Chuvash Republic and other regions of Russia with a compact population of the Chuvash people. The assignment of the institute has a five-story comfortable hostel and a concert hall with 500 seats.

The institute was opened in Cheboksary on July 10, 2000 . In the first academic year, 38 students were admitted to the institute. As of September 1, 2000, more than 30 teachers worked at the institute, including 7 full-time teachers [2] .

Structure
The institute includes three faculties:
- culture (Department of socio-cultural and library activities; Department of folk art; Department of humanitarian and socio-economic disciplines), Dean - Honored Worker of Culture of the Chuvash Republic, Associate Professor L.V. Illarionova;
- performing arts (department of acting and directing; department of choral conducting and folk singing; department of vocal art; department of theory, history of art. music education and performance), dean - candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor O.V. Kapranova;
- additional education, dean - candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor O.V. Mikhailova.
