Kena [1] ( Arabic: محافظة قنا , Kina [2] ) is a governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt . The administrative center is the city of Kena . Located in the center of the country, in the Nile Valley, west of the Red Sea governorate, east of the Wadi al-Gedid governorate, south of the Sohag governorate and north of Aswan governorate. In the center of Ken governorate is an enclave with a small Luxor governorate. Ken stretched along the Nile for 240 km.

Climate
Summer in Ken is always hot, winter is relatively cool. In winter and summer, the climate is dry. Occasionally, one can observe heavy rains brought from hills from the Red Sea .
