Products
Despite the high price, Sparco products are popular among street racers (including Russian ones) and tuning enthusiasts, ranging from sports cars participating in rallies to cars like Lada vehicles due to their high quality, convenience, reliability and safety. Due to the high cost, good reputation and huge popularity of products from the Sparco brand, its products are often faked.
History
The company was founded in 1977 by rally pilots Antonio Parisi and Inrico Glorioso. One of them was the son of a businessman who supplied equipment for firefighters.
Their initial goal was to create refractory coveralls for riders (in those days, riders put on cotton coveralls that easily caught fire). The first fire resistant jumpsuit was created in 1978 and held a flame of 11 seconds. [1] It was made of nomex for firefighter clothing. Such suits met the requirements introduced in connection with this FIA 8856-2000 [2] . And this was only the first achievement of the company in the production of safe equipment for riders. Every year this 11-second indicator increased, which meant even more refractory materials. The first Sparco seats went on sale in 1978 and were designed so high quality that they became role models for other automotive brands.
The next invention was a chair for motorsport, which was a great success.
The first Formula 1 winner to use Sparko equipment was Nelson Piquet in 1983 .
In 1994, Sparco products began to be sold in Russia .
After some time, the company "Sparko" began to produce equipment for karting , and since the beginning of the 90s - for tuning . Since 1999, the production of carbon parts for supercars has begun.
The company now has offices in Italy , the USA , Tunisia and Brazil .
