Comoros make a claim to the island of Mayotte , which is an overseas territory of France under the laws of the latter. According to the current Constitution of Comoros, adopted by referendum in 2001, the Union of Comoros consists of 4 autonomous islands, including the island of Maore (Mayotte) [3] [4] .
