Creation History
The museum was created in 2001 at the initiative of collector and entrepreneur Vadim Zadorozhniy . At that moment, it was a street exposition of 10 samples of military equipment. The official opening of the museum complex took place on April 12, 2008. Over the years, the museum has expanded tens of times, a modern building has been built, as well as restoration workshops. In 2012, Zadorozhny spoke about the dynamic development of the museum: “We are developing, and we have only one request: do not interfere. For military historical aircraft, we pay a transport tax. For 12 aircraft, the treasury receives 4.5 million rubles a year. If they don’t bother us, we will build the best museum in Europe ” [2] .
On the territory of the museum is the Voenfilm film studio, created by Igor Ugolnikov and Vadim Zadorozhny .
