Biography

 
  • 1880 - Graduated from the Marine Corps with production in midshipmen .
  • 1884 - Graduated from the Mines Officer Class.
  • April 23, 1885 - The commander of the minnowock “Roach”.
  • 1896-1898 - Senior mine officer of the cruiser Vladimir Monomakh .
  • June 15, 1898 - Senior officer of the squadron battleship Sisoy the Great .
  • December 6, 1899 - Captain of the 2nd rank .
  • February 4, 1904 - The commander of the cruiser " Pearl " in the 2nd Pacific squadron.
  • May 14, 1905 - Participated in the Tsushima battle , after the battle as part of Rear Admiral Enquist's squad, he led the cruiser to Manila . For distinction, he was awarded swords to the Order of St. Anne, II degree [1] .
  • December 6, 1906 - Captain 1st rank .
  • June 17, 1907 - Head of the Diving Training Unit in the Baltic Sea.
  • 1911 - Diving Officer.
  • March 25, 1912 - Rear Admiral "for distinction in service."
  • 1914-1915 - The commander of a submarine brigade on the Baltic Sea.

Modest, simple, friendly to everyone and everyone, Pavel Pavlovich always carefully listened to the opinions and wishes of the submarine commanders, allowed to argue with himself and never abused the power granted to him. For these qualities he was universally respected and earned the nickname "Papa" on the brigade, which he was always proud of.

To this it is worth adding that he never tried to avoid danger and, although this was not absolutely required by his position, he personally went to dives to great depths or to tests, from which the boat risked not returning.

  • March 23, 1915 - Appointed to be a minister of the sea.
  • January 18, 1916 - Supervising the construction of submarines on the Baltic Sea.
  • 1917 - After the October Revolution, he left for Kiev .
  • September 1919 - Departed to Sevastopol , where he was appointed head of the reserve of fleet officers.
  • May 15, 1920 - Commandant of the Yalta port .
  • November 1920 - Supervised the evacuation of General Wrangel ’s army units from Yalta, after which he arrived in Athens through Constantinople and lived in Greece for some time.
  • June 1924 - Joined the "Corps of Officers of the Imperial Army and Navy" and was sent to Greece as representative of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich.
  • April 24, 1930 - Produced by Grand Prince Kirill Vladimirovich as vice admiral .

He died on July 31, 1938 in Tallinn. He was buried at the Alexander Nevsky Cemetery .
