Bovanenkovo - Ukhta

Bovanenkovo - Ukhta - Russian main export gas pipeline . The main source of gas is the Bovanenkovo gas field . In the city of Ukhta, the gas pipeline adjoins the Yamal - Europe highway. Customer - Yamalgazinvest http://yamalgazinvest.gazprom.ru/about/today/b_u/

The decision to build the gas pipeline was made in October 2006 , construction began in August 2008 . At first, it was planned to finish construction in the III quarter of 2011 , but in June 2009, for financial reasons, the commissioning period was postponed to the III quarter of 2012 [1] .

The projected length of the gas pipeline is 1,100 km, productivity - 140 billion m³ of gas per year. During construction, pipes with a diameter of 1420 mm, designed for high pressure, were used [2] . By June 2009, more than 300 km were built, including about 40 km of the underwater section along the bottom of the Baydaratskaya Bay [1] . The general contractor for the underwater crossing is Mezhregiontruboprovodstroy OJSC, and one of the contractors is Stroygazconsulting LLC. By 2010, the underwater part was laid on the first line - 67 km, on the second line 35 km were laid.

The Northern European Pipe Project company won a tender for the supply of more than 480 thousand tons of pipe products to Gazprom during 2012, a source at Gazprom told Izvestia. The amount of the contract is more than 36 billion rubles. The company has been working with Gazprom for a long time and is one of the main suppliers of the monopolist. The main owners of SETP are brothers Arkady and Boris Rotenberg, who in March 2010 acquired 38.1% of the company’s shares.

The pipes are intended for the holding’s subsidiary, ZAO Yamalgazinvest . According to Andrei Polishchuk, an analyst at Raiffeisen Bank, most of them will go on laying the Yamal gas pipeline Bovanenkovo - Ukhta, the construction of the first string of which should be completed this year. Part of the pipes is also intended for the reconstruction of Gazprom’s existing infrastructure. According to the expert, the company has a rather high depreciation of capacities.

According to the general contracting organization, which carries out construction and installation works at the Bovanenkovskoye oil and gas condensate field, the GP-2 industrial base and the gas treatment facility were commissioned and the gas went off on October 23, 2012 [3] .

A winter road is laid along the pipeline every winter: Ukhta - Pechora - Inta - Vorkuta - Baydaratskaya Bay , which is necessary for the construction of the pipeline and compressor stations. [4] , [5] The winter road does not pass strictly parallel to the pipe, deviating from the pipe to 10 km. As soon as the construction is completed, the winter road will cease to exist. Only roads to compressor stations (CS) will remain, the longest of them is the road from Vorkuta to Baydaratskaya Bay [6] . The road from Vorkuta to Baydaratskaya Bay is a year-round dirt road that ends in the village of Yary [7] . This road was ready for use along its entire length in October 2011 , but without bridges over water barriers [8] , [9] . In summer, the Vorkuta – Baydaratskaya Guba dirt road can be driven not only by loaded freight transport, but also by any passenger car. In winter, it can be swept heavily in snow in certain areas, so an ordinary passenger car will not pass, and if there is a multi-day snowstorm, then no transport will pass. According to the rules of PJSC Gazprom , compressor stations (CS) must have a year-round approach; for this purpose, dirt roads to the CS from certain railway stations were built [10] . Therefore, in the section of the winter road for the Son -Kosyu, there is a section with a dirt road connecting KS-7 “Syninskaya” with the village of Son.

On December 5, 2018, the second string of the Ukhta-Torzhok gas pipeline was opened, which allows increasing gas supplies from Yamal to the central part of the Russian Federation [11] .
