Biography
Born December 13, 1917 in a peasant family in the village of Chaga, Turkestan district, Chimkent region.
The Vakhidov family peasantry in the lands located near the city of Turkestan. Father - Abduvakhit Halmetov, had 9 children, of whom 2 died at an early age, and seven, and the youngest Vasit, helped his father in the household. Mother - Khalmetova Khozhar, the whole family and raising children - this was her concern.
He graduated in 1939 from the Tashkent Medical Institute . He defended his thesis in 1950 - "The function of the pancreas in purulent diseases." Doctoral - in 1962 - "Pleural adhesions and the importance of their vessels in the pulmonary circulation."
On November 27, 1973, Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 70 was published, and on December 6, 1973 - Order of the Minister of Health of the USSR Academician B. V. Petrovsky No. 970 "On the organization of a branch of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery of the Ministry of Health of the USSR in Tashkent. " The head of the Department of Hospital Surgery at the Tashkent State Medical Institute, Professor Vasit Vakhidovich Vakhidov, becomes the director of the branch of VNIIKiEH.
He created and until the end of his life remained the director of the Tashkent branch of the All-Union Research Center of Surgery.
Awards and Proceedings
- Hero of Uzbekistan .
- The author of more than 180 scientific papers devoted to the study of almost all sections of surgery-diseases of the lungs, mediastinal organs, biliary tract, liver, stomach, heart, main vessels of the lower extremities, urgent surgical diseases of the abdominal cavity, etc.
- He prepared 15 doctors and 60 candidates of sciences. He was a full member of the World Association of Surgeons, editor of the "Medical Journal of Uzbekistan", a member of the editorial board of the journal "Surgery" named after Pirogov.
Memory
In 1995, the aforementioned research institute was named after him in Uzbekistan .
