The origin and history of the genus
According to a late pedigree fairy tale, an untrustworthy ancestor of the Nelidovs and the Otrepievs, Vladislav S Nil Kashch-Neledzivsky , the coat of arms Pravdzits , the “ husband of the noble Crown of Polsky, ” who allegedly arrived in Moscow with Prince of Lithuania Dmitry Olgerdovich to help the Grand Duke of Dmitriy Dmitry. 1367) and participated in the Battle of Kulikovo (1380). Having remained in the service of the Grand Duke, he was granted the village of Nikolsky with villages in Sukhodolsky camp in Borovsky district , received the name of Vladimir at re-baptism and became known as Nelidov [2] .
He had an only son, Yuri Vladimirovich. In the fourth generation from him were two Nelidovs; the elder David Borisovich from John III " by receiving " (by chance), received the nickname Otrepiev (1497-1507). Otrepiev went from him. His brother, Simon Borisovich, preserved the surname of Nelidov and his descendants, who had served in the XVII century, according to Galich , were always written by the Nelidovs. From the offspring of David Borisovich Otrepyev, Yury Bogdanovich Otrepyev (recognized by most historians as False Dmitry I ), adopted into monasticism with the name of Gregory [2], became loudly famous.
Fyodor Ivanovich Bolshaya Otrep'ev, along with all his relatives (1671), received permission to replace his surname Otrepiev, with the old old name Nelidov, however many of them continued to be written by Otrepiev, and only in 1795 three brothers: Mikhail, Evgraf and Peter Ivanovich Otrepiev - the last rejected this name and began to be called Nelidov. According to the resolution of the Senate (March 6, 1795), the widow of Ivan Trifonovich Otrepyev, Pelagia Iosifovna is allowed to be called Nelidovs [2] .
Nelidovs never rose above the attendants and solicitors. At the end of the XVIII century, several Nelidovs moved forward in their career.
In the 16th century, the following branches separated from this genus, the link between which and the genus was not determined:
- The offspring of Bezson Nelidow, who lived in the 2nd half of the XVI century. The ancestor of this family Osip (aka Yason Bezsonov, the son of Nelidov), in the Kostroma scribal books, owned an estate (1628) in the Galich district.
- Progeny of Leonty Nelidov, who lived at the end of the XVI century.
- The offspring of Ivan Nelidov, who lived at the end of the XVI century.
- Offspring Enaya Nelidova, who lived at the end of the XVI century.
- The offspring of Cyril Nelidov, who lived in the 2nd quarter of the XVII century. To this branch belongs Emelyan Kirillovich Nelidov, reitar , killed in the service near Smolensk (1634).
- The offspring of Ivan Nelidov, who lived in the 1st half of the XVII century.
- The offspring of Andrei Nelidov, who lived in the 1st half of the XVIII century.
There is still a kind of Nelidovs of a completely different origin, recorded in the noble family tree of the Simbirsk province and originating from the son of a priest, collegiate assessor Konstantin Pavlovich Nelidov (1844) [2] .
