Biography

Kushnirenko was born in Taganrog in 1944 [1] .

In 1967 he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University [2] . He specialized in functional analysis . A student of V. I. Arnold , under whose guidance he defended his thesis [7] .

In his 1967 article, A. G. Kushnirenko introduced [8] the concept of A-entropy (the term “sequence enthropy” was later fixed in English literature), which is a modification of the concept of metric entropy of a dynamical system introduced by A. N. Kolmogorov [9] . A number of works by Kushnirenko are devoted [10] [11] [12] to the study of systems of polynomial equations and to obtaining estimates for the number of solutions of such systems; his results (in particular, the “Kushnirenko theorem” and the “Kushnirenko principle”) were firmly included in the arsenal of researchers working in this area of mathematics [13] [14] .

In 1970, Kushnirenko became a full-time assistant professor at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University , and in 1998, an assistant professor and assistant professor at the Department of General Professional Education (general management problems). In 1976 - 1979, Kushnirenko was the scientific secretary of the department of public educational institutions [1] .

Kushnirenko was one of the first to introduce computer science in the 1980s as a subject. In 1980, he, together with G.V. Lebedev, created a new computer science course at Moscow State University (the textbook “Programming for Mathematicians” was subsequently created on the basis of this course), based on original ideas. In 1987, the second computer science textbook for the 10th grade of high school was published, created by a team of authors led by Kushnirenko [15] . From 1990 to 1997, the textbook "Fundamentals of Computer Science and Computer Engineering" was published with a total circulation of more than 7 million copies. Kushnirenko considers it necessary to study computer science in schools [16] .

Both the course of lectures and both textbooks were based on: the concept of “performer” (proposed in the late 1970s by V. B. Betelin and developed by A. G. Kushnirenko and G. V. Lebedev) as one of the ways to implement the concept object-oriented programming , top-down programming technology and a hierarchy of data structures [17] .

He made two reports at the International Seminar on Computer Algebra and Computer Science [18] .

From 1996 to 1998, Kushnirenko worked at the University of Pennsylvania ( Eng. The Penn State University ) in State College ( Eng. State College ), where he taught mathematics [19] .

Today

Currently, Anatoly Georgievich reads special courses and conducts special seminars. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Fundamental and Applied Mathematics" [1] .

A. G. Kushnirenko published over 60 works [2] , including 12 books. Under his leadership, seven master's theses were defended [1] .
