Putrajaya ( Malay. Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya , (Putrajaya: putra - prince, jaya - glorious), jawi: ولايه ڤرسكوتوان ڤوتراجاي) - the new administrative center of Malaysia . Located 20 km south of the capital of Kuala Lumpur . It was founded on October 19, 1995 . Since late 1999, the Prime Minister’s working residence and government have been located here. Named after the first prime minister, Abdul Rahman , who was a prince of descent. It has the status of the Federal Territory. Area 49 km². 55 thousand inhabitants (2009) [2] . Sightseeing: Botanical Garden, Putra Mosque (1999), Putra Bridge, Millennium Monument. After creation, the flag of Putrajaya was adopted.
