Cairo Governorate should not be confused with the term Greater Cairo - an urban agglomeration of three provinces (Cairo, Al-Ghiza and Qalyubiya ), as well as two new governorates - Helwan and October 6 (in April 2011, these two governorates were canceled. Helwan went back to the department Cairo, and October 6, El Giza ). The total population of the agglomeration, according to some estimates, can reach 20 million people.
