Kirnich ( German: Kirnitzsch , Czech. Křinice ) is a river in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains , the right tributary of the Elbe . The length of the river is 45 km. The catchment area is 140 km².

In a short section, it forms the border between the Czech Republic and Saxony . From the Middle Ages until the 20th century, it was used for rafting . Forest from the inaccessible regions of Saxony Switzerland was transported through it to the Elbe River and from there to Dresden .
