Office envelope

Office envelope is a type of postal envelope intended for sending correspondence by an institution or organization for official purposes.

Description

As a rule, service envelopes have the corresponding inscription (for example, “Service” ) or design (for example, a pre-printed address of the sender or recipient of the letter ).

Government agencies in most countries use envelopes with symbols indicating their official character. So, on official mail of Great Britain very often there are inscriptions in English. “OHMS” or “On His / Her Majesty's Service” , in the USA the silhouette of an eagle is used , in Ethiopia - a hand clutching a split stick with a letter inserted into the split [1] , and Ireland uses a lyre [2] .

Labeled service envelopes usually have a stamp that matches the service stamp in the mail. In some cases, the stamp of the state and the name of the institution or organization that uses the envelope may also be printed on such a stamp.

Office envelopes, both marked and unlabeled, were issued in many countries [3] .

Unlabeled office envelopes are philatelic value (like all whole things ), provided that they have gone through the mail and have the appropriate attributes.

Examples

The following are examples of service envelopes in some countries.
