Factory History
The plant was founded in 1917 as the Main Railway Workshops . In 1929, the plant was transformed into the Barnaul steam engine repair plant . In 1935, it received the name Barnaul Locomotive Repair Plant . [1] .
During the Great Patriotic War, the factory, in addition to repairing wagons, produced ammunition. Foundry equipment was evacuated to the plant from Moscow , Dnepropetrovsk , Roslavl .
In 2006, the Open Joint Stock Company Barnaul VRZ was established on the basis of the property of the Barnaul Car Repair Plant, a branch of Russian Railways OJSC [1] .
In November 2011, in accordance with the orders of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 18.01.2011 No. 34-r and dated 24.03.2011 No. 495-r, an auction was held to sell 100% minus one share of Barnaul VRZ OJSC. The winner of the auction was Novougol CJSC (affiliated with the TALTEK Group of Companies), which offered 1.25 billion rubles for the asset. with a starting price of 868.7 million rubles. [2] .
Activities
The company is engaged in overhaul and production of gondola cars, hoppers (grain, mineral carriers) and platforms. According to SPARK, the company's revenue in 2010 amounted to 1.515 billion rubles., Net loss - 159.5 million rubles. [2] .
