Geography
They border the Kizilsky district: in the north - Agapovsky district , in the east - Kartalinsky district and Bredinsky district , in the south - Orenburg region , in the west of Sibay , the Republic of Bashkortostan .
History
In June 1743, the governor of the Orenburg province I.I. Neplyuyev established fortresses and redoubts along the Yaik River (the Ural River since 1774 ) of a new military line, demarcating the lands of Russia from the steppes of nomadic Kyrgyz Kaisaks. Including the confluence of the rivers Big Kizil and Yaik, the Kizil fortress was set up. The name is given from the Turkic word "Kyzyl", which means "red".
The district was formed on November 4, 1926 .
On November 29, 2001 the Bogdanovsky, Granitny, Izmailovsky, Karabulaksky, Katsbakhsky, Kizilsky, Novoershovsky, Novopokrovsky, Obruchevsky, Polotsky, October Routes, Syrtinsky and Uralsky rural councils were abolished [4] .

Anthem
Anthem of the Kizil region
(verses by Ivannikova T.I.)
Above the Blue Stone
stands a village in the arms of the rivers.
Dogwood we sing glory to you
we are connected with you forever.
Granite Belt Powers
you keep the wisdom of three centuries,
their fathers former glory
their labor, and the gold of the loaves.
Chorus:
Cossack land is the land of Kizil,
steppe and breadth of fields
native village, close to my heart,
there is no dearer in the world
Here the ancient spirit of Arkaim
pierced through the wind
Ural flows slowly
carries a check Cheka Gora.
Your wealth cannot be measured
your beauties cannot be counted.
Live, our land, blossom and believe -
you are dear to us, what you are.
Economics
Kizilsky district - agricultural. The area is engaged in grain farming and animal husbandry.
