Chapaev Square is a square in the Leninsky district of the city of Samara .

The area was formed by the streets of Kuybyshev , Frunze , Vilonovskaya and Shostakovich (formerly Rabochaya).
Strukovsky Garden adjoins the square. The Samara Drama Theater is located on the square.
Content
Ensemble
In 1932, a multi-figured monument to the Chapaevites was erected on Chapaev Square. The height of the monument is 10 m, dimensions - 17 by 22 m.
The author is the sculptor Manizer, Matvey Genrikhovich . A copy of the monument , made in 1933, can be seen in St. Petersburg in front of the building of the Military Academy of Communications named after C.M. Budyonny [1] .
Cemetery
The worker of the pipe plant Mikhail Stepanov, who was killed on November 30, 1917, who guarded the entrance to the Revolutionary Committee building (167 Frunze St., now in the building of the Samara Institute of Culture ), was buried in the square. On December 26, eight Red Guards who died in a terrorist attack in the basement of the same building were buried in a mass grave, as well as Red Guard I. Bulatov, who died in battles near Orenburg .
On August 16, 1921, the head of the transport Cheka , who died during the liquidation of a gang in the Buzuluk area , A.F. Silin was buried in the square. In January 1922, two Chekists S. Sollogubov and V. Semenov-Yakovlev, who died at the hands of bandits, were buried.
Presumably, burials are located between the building of the Institute of Culture and the monument to Chapaev [2] .

There are known attempts of some fixed-route taxis to get directions along Shostakovich Street, but they have not received official permission from the Department of Transport of Samara.
