Peach - typical drupes
Kostyanka ( lat. Drúpa ) is a juicy fruit of plants with a sharp differentiation of the layers of the pericarp : a thin, leathery elliptic, a fleshy interplanar, and a lignified intraocular, which encloses the seed and forms a hard (stony or leathery) bone.
It can be apocarpous single-peaked (single-stalked), formed from monocarp gynecea - for example, cherry , plum , peach , coconut , or cenocarpous single-peeled (for example, viburnum ); or multicostic (multicostic), formed from apocarpous gynoecium , consists of two or many drupes, for example, raspberries , blackberries , cloudberries .
Dry drupes are known with leathery ( walnut - the fruit develops from pseudomonocarpous gynoecium) or fibrous ( coconut palm ) intercarpals.
