Japanese Grand Prix of 1977 - the seventeenth stage of the world championship in the Formula 1 class of 1977 , was held on October 23, 1977 on the Fuji track. James Hunt scored the 10th and final victory in Formula 1. Security problems, the high cost of transportation led to the fact that the Japanese Grand Prix was canceled and renewed only 10 years later - on the Suzuka highway. Formula 1 cars will only return to the completely rebuilt Fuji Autodrome in 2007.

An accident involving Villeneuve and Peterson
As a result of the collision of Ferrari Gilles Villeneuve and Tyrrell P34 Ronnie Peterson from the fragments of cars, the marshal and the photographer were killed. Both were in the prohibited part of the route at the time of the accident. [one]
