Biography
He was born in 1922 in the village of Zyablovo now in the Yuryevets district of the Ivanovo region in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1942. He graduated from junior high school. He worked as a mechanic, educator of a colony of juvenile delinquents in the Yuryevets district.
In the Red Army from the first days of World War II. In 1941, Private Balukov fought near Leningrad . From the first days he showed courage and courage. At eighteen he was awarded the medal “For Courage” . Among the best fighters, he was sent to command courses.
At the end of the courses at the end of 1942, the second lieutenant Balukov arrived in the 529th rifle regiment and received a machine-gun company under his command. Under his command, the company participated in the liberation of Orel, Kharkov , Poltava. Then she went to the Dnieper .
On October 1, 1943, the machine-gun company Balukov was among the first to cross to the right bank of the Dnieper south of Kiev . Having seized the bridgehead, the soldiers held him until the battalion approached. The company commander skillfully led the battle, having beaten off several counterattacks, personally destroyed 14 fascists and the calculation of an easel machine gun.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 29, 1943, for the successful crossing of the Dnieper River and the courage and courage shown to this, Lieutenant Balukov Nikolai Mikhailovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal.
But the hero did not manage to get a well-deserved reward. The offensive continued and in one of the battles on November 7, 1943, Senior Lieutenant Balukov died the death of the brave.
The remains of the hero were found after the war in the village of Kryukovshchina.
He was buried in the city of Cherry Kiev-Svyatoshinsky district of the Kiev region (Ukraine), where the obelisk is installed Hero.
