Biography and Activity
Born July 27, 1908 in the village of Kushchevskaya, Krasnodar Territory, in a peasant family. In his native village he graduated from a secondary school, then worked as the head of a rural school.
Since 1928 , the life of P.E. Ladan has been associated with Novocherkassk , where he graduated from the veterinary faculty of the veterinary institute of veterinary institute (NZVI) and postgraduate school in 1931 and worked as an assistant in the department of animal husbandry . Having defended his thesis in 1937 , he became an associate professor and then head of the department of breeding farm animals. In 1947 , at the Kazan Veterinary Institute, he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
Since 1960 - Director of the Novocherkassk Veterinary Institute, then (after the merger in 1962 of the NZVI and the Agricultural Institute in the village of Persianovskaya ) - the rector of the newly formed Don Agricultural Institute (now Don State Agrarian University ).
For merits in the development of animal husbandry and many years of fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity in 1969 , P. E. Ladan was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the RSFSR . His works are devoted to breeding , breeding , problems of feeding and keeping farm animals.
P. E. Ladan is one of the authors of new breeding and improvement techniques for old breeds of farm animals. He scientifically substantiated the theory of the breeding process, confirming it with practical results. The North Caucasian breed and the Don specialized meat type (DM-1) of pigs, bred under his leadership, are well-known not only in Russia , but also abroad, and have become outstanding achievements of the national selection science of the second half of the 20th century.
P. E. Ladan proposed a system of organizational measures for the use of scientifically regulated heterosis in pig breeding , developed and improved methods for assessing the hereditary qualities of animals. He headed the scientific work of groups of scientists on the creation of devices for the in vivo determination of meat and dairy qualities of pigs and on the use of microbiological synthesis products in animal husbandry. For research in this area, he was awarded the USSR State Prize .
P. E. Ladan for many years led the department of pig breeding of the All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences . His research has found and is widely used in agricultural production. He founded a scientific school that brought up a new generation of agricultural specialists, trained 14 doctors and 45 candidates of science, published more than five hundred scientific articles, brochures , monographs , books and textbooks. P. E. Frankincense, thanks to its exceptional foresight, wisdom and faith in people, brought up two rectors of the Don GAU - V.I. Stepanova and A.I. Baranikova .
P. Ye. Incense was awarded two Orders of Lenin , the Order of the October Revolution , two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor , the commemorative medal "For Valiant Labor", the gold medal to them. Academician M. F. Ivanov, with gold and silver medals of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition and the Exhibition of National Economy Achievements of the USSR awarded several foreign countries.
