The early years
He was born on August 7, 1921 in the village of Kuropleshevo, now Kologrivo, Slantsevsky District, Leningrad Region , into a peasant family. Father - Andreev Rodion Andreevich (born in 1891 ). Mother - Andreeva Praskovya Fedorovna (born in 1891 ). Russian Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1942 . After graduating from the seven-year plan ( junior high school ) in 1935 he entered the Leningrad Road Mechanical College and in 1939 graduated from it, having received the specialty of a technician for the construction of roads and bridges. According to the Komsomol permit, he was sent to the Amur Region , where he worked as a technician in a machine-road detachment. A year later, in 1940, he was drafted into the Red Army . In April 1941 he was sent to Lvov as part of the forming 64th Panzer Regiment of the 32nd Panzer Division of the 4th Mechanized Corps , which was armed with new (at that time) equipment - T-34-76 tanks .
During the Great Patriotic War
In the army during the Great Patriotic War from the first day of the war. He participated in battles on the South-Western and Stalingrad fronts.
During the four days of fighting in December 1941 in the area of the settlements of Panskoye, Pokrovskoye, Petrischeno and Morozovka, Kursk Region, the crew of the tank of N.K. Andreev destroyed the enemy infantry company, crushed 6 guns, knocked out one medium tank , one armored personnel carrier, two vehicles, and also captured several thousand shells. For this episode he was awarded the Order of the Red Star (February 13, 1942) [1] .
He distinguished himself on March 24 - March 25, 1942 in the area of the village of Rubezhnoye ( Volchansky district of Kharkov region ) and in the village of Dvurechye (now the village of Dvurechnaya ), where 7 tanks were destroyed by a tank platoon under his command and before the platoon of machine gunners .
On August 5, 1942, to the north of Abganerovo, the 48th Panzer Corps of the 4th Panzer Army of the enemy with a force of up to 70 tanks , up to the motorized infantry regiment and several divisions of heavy self-propelled and anti-tank artillery, wedged into the location of the 6th Guards Tank Brigade of the 64th Army of the Stalingrad Front and left to the railway in the area of the “ 74th kilometer ” junction of the Stalingrad region . Here was the "Siberian" 126th Infantry Division . “In fact, the 6th Guards. the tank brigade was at Abganerovo the piano in the bushes, which was so lacking in repelling the first attacks of the Germans in other directions. The enemy who attacked the Abganerovo station on August 5 was met by tank fire from prepared positions ... Having met fierce resistance at the approaches to the Abganerovo station and experiencing a shortage of fuel, the 48th Panzer Corps went on the defensive. " [2]
On August 6, 1942, the 1st Tank Battalion was tasked with attacking the enemy and knocking him out of his occupied line. During the attack, Andreev on his tank was the first to break into a driveway and collided with a column of German tanks of 20 vehicles. The commander of the tank platoon of the 1st tank battalion N.R. Andreev, the commanders of the vehicles, junior lieutenant P.P. Chikhunov and senior sergeant V.A. Dementyev at high speed sent their T-34s to the enemy and entered the battle. N.R. Andreev turned his tank along the column and shot it point-blank from the cannon. In this battle, Andreev’s crew destroyed 5 tanks, knocked out 2 tanks and destroyed 2 guns. One tank was destroyed by a ram. The car of N.R. Andreev also received damage that was repaired by the crew. [3]
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 5, 1942, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown to Nikolai Rodionovich Andreyev, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union ( Gold Star medal No. 904).
In total, Andreev’s combat account had 27 destroyed tanks (one of them was a battering ram), several dozen guns, a large number of weapons and manpower of the enemy. [4] Four times his car burned, was wounded twice and once was shell-shocked.
Post-war years
In 1945 he graduated from the Military Academy of Armored and Mechanized Forces. Lieutenant General N. R. Andreev served in the Urals Military District , and then since 1968 in the Main Personnel Directorate of the USSR Ministry of Defense . He retired in 1988 with the rank of lieutenant general .
Married. Wife - Andreeva Tamara Alexandrovna (born in 1924 ). In 1947, Nikolai Rodionovich had a son - Andreev Alexander Nikolaevich, and in 1949 - a daughter (Sergeeva Tatyana Nikolaevna).
He died on April 5, 2000 .
