History and Activity
DOMO trading company was founded in 1998 as a wholesale consumer electronics company BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH and was the official representative of this company in the Volga region. Already at the end of 1998, the first retail multi-brand store was opened, and by 2003 there were already 10 such stores.
In August 2006, a major deal took place on the merger of the DOMO company and the Siberian Iceberg network, thanks to which DOMO grew in stores in major Siberian cities - Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk. In October of the same year, the purchase of the KGB network (Quality is a guarantee of well-being) in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug took place. The end of March 2007 was marked by the purchase of the Tyumen network BigMag. The new geographic vector of development of the network was the southern direction - in July 2007, DOMO acquired the “Televid” network (Northern Caucasus). At the end of 2007, the transaction for the purchase of the Comincom network (Orenburg Region) was completed.
In October 2006 , the retail network was re-branded [1] and as of January 2007, the DOMO retail chain united 134 stores in different cities of Russia in more than 20 regions: from the Krasnodar Territory in the south to the Altai Territory in the east of the country. In the same year, the company entered the stock market and placed a bond loan on the MICEX . [2]
2008–2010 crisis
The network suffered serious losses as a result of the 2008–2010 crisis . As a result of the strategy of maintaining efficiency, the number of stores has decreased almost three times.
Overcoming the crisis
In 2011, the network stabilized the number of stores, key indicators, and embarked on a growth strategy: the satellite network was absorbed, 28 stores were connected to the network. In the period of 2011–2012, the network increased its efficiency by completing the program of bringing stores to three formats; as part of this process, some of the inefficient stores were closed, and stores were opened that satisfy the specified efficiency parameters.
On December 20, 2012, 8 more stores were solemnly opened. Since 2015, the company focuses on the Volga regions and leaves Siberia. Currently the network has 43 stores.
In 2016, the company planned to replace the shops of M.Video and Eldorado in Syzran, but this decision was refused.
In 2017, the company closes most of the stores. So, under the reduction, fell Chapaevsk, Kinel, Syzran, Tolyatti, Pavlovo and other cities.
Global Consulting LLC, whose founders include former DOMO network managers, filed for bankruptcy of the main legal entity, Household Electronics LLC. "
In April 2017, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan accepted a declaration of bankruptcy of DOMO OJSC. [3]
