Biography
He started playing in the Leather Ball tournament.
In 1983 he was invited to take the Zalgiris double, and in 1984 he made his debut for the team. At the same time he played for the youth team of the USSR. Soon he, along with another 8 players of the youth team, was forced to go to CSKA , where he played for 2 seasons. In October 1986 he returned to альalgiris, where his striker talent was further developed. In 1987, together with the club, he won the summer Universiade and took bronze medals of the USSR championship.
In 1988 Ivanauskas was called up to the USSR Olympic team by Anatoly Byshovets . In April-May, he spent 3 games for the team - against the national teams of Turkey (came out from the 46th minute), Bulgaria (went out at the base, replaced in the 77th minute) and Switzerland (went out at the base, replaced in the 46th minute) . Ivanauskas hoped that he would get to the final tournament, but at the last moment Byshovets removed him from the squad for a disciplinary offense [2] .
In the fall of 1988, he made his debut as part of the first team - he entered the starting lineup for the 1st match of the qualifying tournament for the 1990 World Cup against Austria . The player spent the entire first half on the field, actively connected to the team's attacks. However, during the break, with the score 0-0, he was replaced. Without it, the team scored 2 goals in the 2nd half and won the match 2-0 [3] . In November 1988, he participated in the national team in 3 games during a tour of Kuwait and Syria .
In 1989 he was included in the list of 33 best football players of the country under No. 3.
In the spring of 1990, together with Arminas Narbekovas, he took part in the training of the USSR national team in Italian Chokka, where Lobanovsky prepared the team for the 1990 World Cup and counted on Lithuanian footballers. However, after the departure of the Lithuanian teams in early 1990 from the participants of the allied championship, these plans collapsed. Soon the Lithuanian team was convened, which on May 27, 1990 held a friendly match against the Georgian team. The match ended in a draw 2: 2, and Ivanauskas spent the whole match on the field. In total, he spent 26 matches in the Lithuanian national team, scoring 8 goals.
The 1990 season Ivanauskas played in the newly formed Baltic League , where «algiris was much stronger than all the other teams. In the summer of that year, “альalgiris” conducted a tour in Germany to maintain the practice, where the coach of “Austria” (Vienna) Herbert Prokhazka became interested in the game of Ivanauskas and his teammate Arminas Narbekovas. Ivanauskas, like Narbekovas, even held 2 training games for “Austria”, both of which ended in a draw 1: 1, and Ivanauskas was the sole author of the goals of “Austria” [4] . However, they could not go to the new team - transfers still remained in Moscow. The players eventually accepted the invitation of the Moscow Lokomotiv , where they moved to in the summer of 1990. The Lithuanians helped the club reach the big leagues, and on October 9, 1990 Ivanauskas also played for the USSR national team in one unofficial match - against the Israeli national team, in which the Soviet team confidently won 3-0 [5] .
With the consent of the railway coach Yuri Semin, in November 1990 Ivanauskas and Narbekovas went to Vienna [6] . Soon, with the mediation of the ex-player of the Daugava and the current player of Austria, Eugene Milevsky, they entered into a contract with Austria. The transfer amount was not disclosed, but according to Narbekovas, they and Ivanauskas received extremely little for the legionnaire players [7] .
On November 10, 1990 he made his debut in a new team in a guest game against Sturm in the 19th round of the Austrian Championship . However, in this game, he could not help the team, although he spent all 90 minutes on the field, “Austria” lost 0-1, Ivanauskas was marked with a yellow card. For the first time, he scored a goal for “Austria” in the official game only in the last game of the 1st round and in the 4th for himself, when “Austria” outplayed “Vienna” 6-2 in the away game. The spring part of the championship was more successful for him - he scored 3 goals in 10 games. However, he finished the championship ahead of schedule - in the 34th round in the game against Sturm (0: 2) he was removed from the field (2nd warning) [4] .
In the 1991/92 season, Ivanauskas is the main player on the team. He spent 32 games in the championship, scored 9 goals, played in the Champions League [8] . In the home match of the 15th round against Rapida, he made a hat-trick for Austria for the first time and secured the team a 5-1 victory. At the end of the season, he helped the team win the Austrian Cup, scoring the only goal in the final against Admira-Wacker [9] .
The 1992/93 season was the best for Ivanauskas in "Austria" - spent 32 games in the championship, scored 15 goals [10] .
Together with Ivanauskas "Austria" three times became the champion of Austria, won the Austrian Cup.
In 1993, Otto Rehagel came to see Andreas Herzog (then Rapid) for the match between Austria and Rapid. After the game, Otto praised the Lithuanian and, upon returning to Germany, advised his Hamburg coach Benno Mölmann. After two views, it was bought for 1.7 million marks. In the first round against Nuremberg, he scored two goals (only 5 per season) and gave an assist (2 per season). For the season I received 5 yellow, 1 red card. Ivanauskas was recognized as one of the best in the team, but the club was only 12th.
The next season, 94/95, he scored 2 goals in 1 pass and received 2 more cards (yellow-red). The club is already 13th.
In the 2nd half of the season 95/96 was injured and missed 12 games. But during the season I managed to score 3 goals in 17 games, give 4 assists and get 3 yellow cards. The club made it to the UEFA Cup , taking 5th place.
In the 96/97 season, he has 20 games, 3 goals, with 3 assists and 5 yellow [11] . The club returned to the usual 13th place. At the end of the season, he hoped to stay in Germany, continuing to perform in Wolfsburg [12] . However, in the new team he conducted only 3 trainings, after which, at the request of the family, he left the club [13] . By the beginning of the 1997/98 season, he returned to Austria, but not to Austria, who was waiting for him to come, but to Casino from Salzburg , who played in the UEFA Cup in the 1997/98 season. In the new club, he spent the seasons 97/98 and 98/99 (10 games, 1 goal).
In January 1999 he moved to the club of the 2nd Austrian league “St. Pölten” , signing a contract with him for a year and a half [14] . However, already in July 1999 he moved to the club of the 3rd German League "Wilhemshafen" .
In the new team, simultaneously with the game practice, he successfully completed coaching courses and received a license A, which made it possible to accept the team of the third league in Germany. Therefore, already from the 2000/01 season, he became a coach of the youth squad of Vilhemshafen, and then in the same league he became the second playing coach of Kloppenburg . At the same time, he changed his playing role on the field - he was retrained as a free defender.
At the beginning of 2002, with the assistance of the Lithuanian Football Federation, he entered the coaches high school in Cologne and completed an internship at Moscow Lokomotiv. In November 2002 he graduated from school and received a category A license, which gave the right to work at the highest level.
In February 2003, he was appointed assistant coach of the Lithuanian national team Algimantas Lubinskas [15] . Continuing to work in the national team, he agreed to take over the position of head coach of the Vetra club (Vilnius) from August 2003 [16] . Since September 1, 2004 - the head coach of Kaunas . Under his leadership, the club once again became the champion of the country, and also took the Lithuanian Cup.
In the 2005/06 season, he worked as an assistant to the head coach of the Hart of Midlotian club. In March 2006, he was appointed acting head coach until the end of the 2005/06 season after the dismissal of Graham Ricks [17] , helped the team win the Scottish Cup and become the country's vice champion. Since June 2006, he got rid of the prefix and. Fr., having received as assistants as a sports director Eduard Malofeev. In October 2006, he was dismissed from this post “because of health problems” [18] . However, in November 2006 he returned to the leadership of the club. In February 2007, he was dismissed after a devastating home defeat from Dundee United 0-4, although in fact he hadn’t led the team’s game actions for the past three weeks, being engaged in the Hearts Club football business [19] .
In September 2007, he took over as head coach of the Carl Zeiss club , replacing Frank Neubart. Under him, the team never rose above 17th place in the 2nd Bundesliga and at the end of December 2007 he was dismissed [20] .
In July 2008, he became the head coach of the Lithuanian club of the 2nd league “Banga” Gargzdai , signing a contract until the end of the season [21] . At the end of the 2008 season, the team entered the major league [22] , and Ivanauskas continued to work in the team.
Since November 2008 - acting head coach of the Lithuanian national team (U-18), with him the team held a friendly match with the German national team. In February 2009, he headed the youth team of Lithuania (U-21), which was supposed to take part in the qualifying group of the European Championship-2011 together with the teams of England, Portugal, Greece and Macedonia [23] . Under him, the team held only 1 official match, in which they lost to Greece 0: 1 at home [24] . In July 2009, he signed a one-year contract with the Standard club (Sumgait) [25] and a week later left the coaching staff of the Lithuanian youth team. However, the club only worked until October 21, 2009, when he was dismissed from his post due to poor results - in 7 matches the team did not win a single victory and scored only 2 points [26] . According to Ivanauskas, the reason for the resignation was the failure to resolve internal issues in the team and the excessive ambitions of the club president [27] . After that, for some time I was without coaching.
In August 2010, he headed the Lithuanian club Šiauliai [28] . Since May 2012 - head coach of the Vilnius REO club [29] . From January 28 to the end of the season, the head coach of the Georgian Dila [30] .

In June 2017, he became the head coach of the FNL Luch-Energia club, but in July, not having played a single official match, left the club. [33] There were no official reasons for leaving, [34] Ivanauskas himself stated that the club’s management did not fulfill the promises made upon signing the contract. [35]
