Story

Wrynn is a smart and independent girl for her age, although she is only 13 years old. She lives in a large house in Maine in Wells Harbor. To others, she says that she lives with her father. Frank Hallet, a local pedophile, begins to show interest in the girl, and his mother, who rented the house for three years to her father Wrynn, is trying to get into the affairs of new guests. Once this interest is worth Mrs. Hallet's life.

However, the girl has a friend - a disabled boy Mario. The young man helps Wrynn overtake Mrs. Hallet's car, after which the girl reveals the truth to her - her parents divorced when she was three years old, but her mother mistreated her and her father secretly took her from her mother. Some time ago, his father discovered that he was terminally ill and, not wanting his daughter to return to an unloving mother after his death, moved with Wrynn to this provincial town, where he ultimately committed suicide by throwing himself into the ocean, but did so at low tide so that the body could not be found and therefore officially it is listed as living. In parting, he gave his daughter a bottle of white powder and claiming that it was only a sedative, he asked her mother to give her when she was trying to pick up Wrynn. Wrynn very calmly tells Mario how she put the powder in her mother’s tea, how her mother noticed the taste of almonds in tea, and Wrynn replied that it was only macaroons, and how her mother died. Mario helps hide the bodies of both women, after which Wrynn offers him an intimate relationship, which the young man first refuses.

The life of the girl, in turn, is also interested in the local policeman Ron Milloriti, who turns out to be Uncle Mario. He constantly expresses a desire to chat with his father. One day, Mario imitates an elderly man, so that his uncle cannot recognize his nephew. However, shortly after this, the young man became seriously ill, and Wrynn was left alone again.

One day, a girl discovers Frank in his house, who has already managed to climb the whole house and realized what happened here. He is blackmailing the girl, inciting her to "friendship." Wrynn, not wanting to suffer so much anymore, offers him a cup of tea and, pouring tea, puts white powder in his cup. Frank feels that he is ruining him: thinking that Wrynn wants to poison him and that there is poison in his cup, he defiantly takes her cup and drinks it. Wrynn does not react to this in any way, which further convinces Frank of his erroneous correctness. Then he begins to compliment her, and Wrynn still looks at him silently, while the poison begins to act.
