Career
Obodo is a graduate of the Nigerian United Plateau. In 2001 he moved to Perugia , where in three seasons he became a significant base player, having played 62 matches for the club. He began the 2004/05 season with Fiorentina , who returned to Serie A. Rim had a good season, but Fiorentina could not buy it. Perugia sold the player in Udinese . Over time, he becomes one of the leaders of the team. In 2007, Udinese extended the contract with Obodo until 2012. In 2010-2011, Obodo played on loan at Torino , and between 2011 and 2012 in Lecce . This is followed by a long period without playing practice as a free agent.
In February 2013, Obodo signed a contract with Minsk Dynamo , which was calculated until the end of June 2014 [1] . However, Obodo for the capital's club never played. Most of the time a footballer treated a specific injury. In June, Dynamo left the location himself, and was later detained by police in Italy. In the car, where Obodo, his friend and two girls were at the time of detention, 52 grams of marijuana were found [2] . Obodo spent his first match for the national team in May 2004: it was a game against Rwanda .
He participated in the Africa Cup of Nations 2006 , where he won the bronze medal.
Abduction
On the morning of June 9, 2012, Christian Obodo was abducted by unknown persons in one of the districts of Varry . The crime occurred at the moment when the football player was heading to the local church. The criminals demanded a ransom of 150 thousand euros for the release of the football player. During a special operation the next day by the Nigerian police, Obodo was released. Some attackers were detained [4] . After his release, Christian stated:
