I-8 ( Interstate 8 ) is an interstate highway in the southwestern United States of America that is 348.25 miles (560.45 km) long. It begins on the southern edge of Mission Bay in San Diego , California and ends at the I-10 intersection near Casa Grande , Arizona . [2] Interstate 8 runs close to the state border with Mexico - for example, in Imperial County, the distance between the highway and the border is only 2 miles (3 km).
