Ground structures

The lobby of the station is built into the building, located at the intersection of Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street and Kuznechny Lane, at Vladimirskaya Square, which houses the Lenmetrogiprotrans Design Institute. The lobby is designed by architects G.I. Alexandrov, A.V. Zhuk , A.I. Pribulsky .

The Lenmetrogiprotrans building is four-story, with a beveled corner and Doric columns installed in its niche. Half-columns of the same type were supposed to adorn the wall planes along Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street and Kuznechny Lane, but they were replaced with rustics. Abandoned reliefs with the letter "M" on both sides of the portal arch [5] . On the site of this building was a two-story house of the Church of the Mother of God of Vladimir (architects A. Kh. Pel, V. F. Gekker, F. Soloviev and N. N. Nikonov).

The lobby of the station is lined with golden yellow marble of the Fominsk deposit. The lobby dome is highlighted below. The building of the ground entrance is adjacent to the walls of the Blacksmith Market, and this significantly influenced the design of the station. Above the escalator passage there is a bright mosaic panel “Abundance” by artists A. A. Mylnikov , A. L. Korolev , V. I. Snopov.

An inclined course (exit from the station) containing three escalators is located at the northern end of the station. From November 15, 1955 to August 9, 2006, escalators of the EM-5 type with an elevation height of ≈ 50 meters were operated in an inclined path. From August 10, 2006 to February 15, 2008, the slope was reconstructed with the replacement of escalators. Since February 16, 2008, escalators of the E-55T type have been in operation. The thesis of the station lobby was based on the thesis by LIIZhT graduate Alexei Beaver .

Renovation of the lobby 2006 - 2008

Repair the lobby. January 2008

The lobby of the Vladimirskaya station was closed for reconstruction on August 10, 2006 , and all passenger traffic was directed through the lobby of the Dostoevskaya station.

A tender was held for the right to carry out the reconstruction of the station, as a result of which the SMU-10 Metrostroy CJSC became the general contractor. “SMU-9” was involved as a subcontractor for the installation of escalator equipment, electrical and plumbing works. This was the first experience in carrying out such a large volume of work in the history of the St. Petersburg metro [6] .

During the reconstruction, the following work was performed:

  • Due to the fact that the escalators were operated for more than 50 years, and went through 8 cycles of overhaul, they needed to be completely replaced. The dismantling of old escalators, the construction of a new monolithic reinforced concrete slab for escalators in place of the old foundations, and the installation of three new escalators were carried out. As a construction opening for the export and delivery of cars, an opening was used in the lobby wall at the exit from the station. New escalators were brought in and mounted in May – June 2007 [7] [8] . By the time the station opened, new chrome panels were installed on the balustrades of the escalator, and the original fixtures of 1955 were also replaced with classic “light poles”.
  • In the lower escalator hall, a pressure seal was replaced.
  • Repair of the inclined course included the elimination of leaks, the replacement of drainage systems.

The installation of new umbrellas of arches made of modern material with an “anti-vandal” coating was also carried out [8] .

  • The following work was carried out in the lobby of the station:
    • Marble and lamps decorating the lobby, the cash register hall, escalator halls, the mosaic panel "Abundance" located above the escalators were restored [9] .
    • A new exit to Kuznechny Lane was constructed to avoid the intersection of passenger flows. At the same time, the entrance to the station was left from Vladimirskaya Square . New oak doors installed at the exit to Kuznechny Lane were made according to the sketches of 1955 . Excess doorways were eliminated, in their place additional office facilities were built for the needs of the Revenue Collection Service (SSD). Turnstiles were rearranged in accordance with the new passenger flows.
  • At the same time, repairs were made to those parts of the station that are not covered by the reconstruction contract: the tunnel construction service repaired the cash register; The station heating systems were repaired.

The total cost of work exceeded 500 million rubles [8] . The object is an architectural monument, therefore, when performing work at the station, all the requirements of the committee for state control, use and protection of historical and cultural monuments of the St. Petersburg government were observed [9] .

Opening Dates

Despite the fact that at the end of June 2007 the metro announced that the planned work was ahead of schedule [10] , the opening was postponed from January 2008 [11] to early February [12] . As a result, the lobby opened on February 16, 2008 .

Underground Structures

Vladimirskaya is a deep- laid pylon station (depth ≈ 55 m) with a shortened central nave (hall). This type of station (the central hall is more than three times shorter than the side halls) was used for the first time in the Leningrad Metro. The innovation, most likely, was caused by economic considerations and was borrowed in Moscow . The underground hall was designed by architects G.I. Alexandrov, A.V. Zhuk and A.I. Pribulsky.

The entire underground hall is lined with white, slightly chilly Ural marble from the Koelga deposit. The floor is made of dark granite ; massive chandeliers illuminate the station. The track walls are covered with marble. On the doors of the track walls, decorative grilles with the inscription “1955” are installed, according to the year the station was opened, the same grille is located in the end wall of the central hall.

In 1991, the station was reconstructed in connection with the arrangement of the transition to the Dostoevskaya station, as a result of which the central hall of the station was extended. The authors of the reconstruction project are architects A. V. Zhuk , A. I. Pribulsky and A. D. Tokman.
In 2004, lighting was replaced.
In 2005, the floors were replaced with granite. A protruding shutslinia was installed along the entire length of the platform (900 mm from the curb) for visually impaired passengers.

Transplants

The station is a junction for trains on line 4 (to the Dostoevskaya station).

During the construction of the transition tunnel from Dostoevskaya to Vladimirskaya (in 1989 ), water penetrated into the mine. In this regard, the Vladimirskaya station was closed for several days, and trains passed it without stops. The result of this incident was the separation of the transition into three parts instead of two, as well as the resettlement of several houses on the surface.

Project and Station Features

  • The decision to build the Vladimirskaya metro station was made in 1951 , so the architectural design is extremely concise. For this reason, the station did not plan to put art compositions with I.V. Stalin.
  • The length of the stretch "Vladimirskaya" - "Uprising Square" - 720 meters [5] . This is the shortest stage in the St. Petersburg metro.
  • In 1951, when the design of the station was being developed, the type of three-vaulted pylon station with a shortened central nave was first used in Leningrad. In 1991, during the reconstruction of the station to create a transplant, the central hall was somewhat lengthened.
