Key Features

SAS.Planet provides a single interface for loading and processing cartographic material, which helps to solve the following problems:

  • Despite the presence in the network of many geoservices that provide the ability to view cartographic material, they all differ in the quality and formats of the materials provided (by such parameters as the scale of maps, coverage of territories, displayed objects, etc.), which makes it difficult to find the desired map.
  • Restrictions on access to most of these services, when the user has the ability to view the map only in the browser , often spending extra traffic on loading the same areas.
  • The impossibility or difficulty for the user of individual geoservices to save the map section he needs in order to use it in their needs (for example, in navigation programs).

Program features besides downloading maps

  • Distance measurement;
  • Formation of a layer filling map - this function allows you to view whether certain areas on the map are loaded into the cache;
  • Saving part of the map in one image, which can be viewed and processed in any graphics editor, as well as used in other GIS applications , for example, in OziExplorer (for which the program will create a binding file);
  • Preservation of places on the map;
  • Overview map - indicates the location of the object that is currently being viewed, and also allows you to quickly go to any other place on the map;
  • Viewing the map in full screen - convenient with a low screen resolution;
  • Converting all previous ones from one layer - this option allows you to significantly reduce the consumed Internet traffic (for example, you can download terrain photos only at maximum magnification, and form all other scales on its basis);
  • Display KML files;
  • Loading and displaying Wikimapia objects;
  • Search for places using the Internet services Google and Yandex ;
  • Adding custom maps;
  • Ability to use a GPS receiver for navigation.
  • Export cards in a format supported by iPhone maps and Yandex Mobile. Cards.
