History
It is believed that the mosque was built by Sidi Bashir, a slave to the Sultan Ahmed Shah. According to another version, it was built by Malik Sarang. It is also known that the mosque was completed in 1452.
Minarets
The mosque has two minarets, each of which has three levels, with high, carved balconies. Any shock of any minaret goes to another minaret, which will vibrate after a few seconds, despite the fact that the passage connecting them remains free from vibration. The actual reason for this is unknown. This phenomenon was first noticed and observed in the 19th century by the English scientist M. Williams.
Other similar minarets
Another mosque in Ahmedabad Rai Bibi had similar minarets. But the British dismantled one of the minarets in order to study architecture. But to recreate nothing happened.
There is also one mosque in Esfahan , Iran , named Monar Jombar (trembling minarets) with almost the same properties.
Current Terms
The mosque is located opposite the Ahmedabad Railway Station and is one of the most popular tourist places of Ahmedabad. Entrance to the trembling minaret was forbidden after the incident at Qutb Minar in Delhi , where the stampede of children led to the destruction of parts of the decor.
