East Ghats [2] ( Hindi पूर्वी घाट ) - a mountain system east of the Deccan Plateau, stretching along the Indian coast of the Bay of Bengal .

The Eastern Ghats are divided into several medium-high and low-mountain ranges ( Nallamal , Velikonda , Palkonda , Shevara ) up to 1680 m high , separated by valleys of large rivers . The eastern slopes, at the foot of which the Bay of Bengal is located, are steeper than the western [3] [4] .
The mountains are covered with monsoon forests . Tea and coffee plantations are also located on the slopes of the mountains.
The Eastern Ghats connect with the Western Ghats in the south in the Nilgiri Mountains .
