Mark (Golovkov)

In 1981 he graduated from high school. In 1982-1984, he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR.

In 1984 he entered the Moscow Theological Seminary, which he graduated in first class in 1988. In the same year he was admitted to the Moscow Theological Academy (MDA); how a student twice received a patriarchal scholarship.

On October 19, 1990, at the 3rd year of the academy, he was tonsured a monk with the name Mark in honor of the evangelist Evangelist Mark at the Pokrovsky academic church. On November 21 of the same year he was ordained a hierodeacon ; January 7, 1991 - in the rank of hieromonk .

In 1992, he graduated from the Moscow Academy of Arts, defending a Ph.D. thesis at the Department of the History of the Ancient Church on the theme "The Blessed Diadochus of Photico and his theological and ascetic views."

On August 12, 1992, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, he was appointed a member of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem ^[2] .

On the occasion of Pentecost 1997, Patriarch of Moscow Alexy II in the Trinity Cathedral of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem was elevated to the rank of hegumen .

On December 28, 1999, by the definition of the Holy Synod, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate ^[3] . He oversaw the administrative work of the department and carried out practical interaction with state institutions of Russia and other countries.

On January 26, 2000, by decree of Patriarch Alexy II, he was appointed rector of the Moscow Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khoroshev .

On May 3, 2000, Metropolitan Cyril of Smolensk and Kaliningrad was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite in the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khoroshev ^[4] .

Bishops

On December 26, 2003, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was determined to be Bishop Egorievsky, Vicar of the Moscow Diocese ^[5] .

On January 13, 2004, in the church in the name of All Saints, who shone in the land of Russia, in St. Daniel’s Monastery, Archimandrite Mark was appointed bishop of Yegoryevsky, vicar of the Moscow diocese ^[6] .

On January 14, 2004, at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, he was ordained bishop . The consecration was performed by: Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II , Metropolitan of Krutitsky and Kolomna Yuvenaly (Poyarkov), Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Cyril , Archbishop of Kaluga and Borovsky Clement (Kapalin) , Archbishop Archbishop of Istra, Arseny (Epifenopis) , Vereisky Eugene (Resetnicov) , Bishop Nut-Zuevsky Alexis (Frolov) , Bishop Krasnogorskij Sawa (Volkov) , and Bishop Stavropol Vladikavkazsky Theophanus (Ashurkov) , Bishop Baltic Serafim (Melkonyan) , episko Dmitrovsky Alexander (Agrika) , Bishop Sergievo-Posadskiy Feognost (Guzik) , and Bishop Nizhegorodskiy Arzamasskiy George (Daniel) , Bishop Lyuberetskiy Benjamin (Zaritskii) , and Bishop Saratov Wolski Longin (Pavel) ^[6] .

On December 10, 2008, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was included in the commission for the preparation of the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church , which was held January 27-28, 2009 ^[7] .

On February 11, 2009, the new Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Cyril, instructed Bishop Mark to temporarily act as chairman of the department of external church relations ^[8] .

On March 31, 2009, at the first meeting of the Holy Synod under the leadership of Patriarch Kirill, he was relieved of his post as deputy chairman of the department of external church relations and was appointed head of the newly established secretariat of the Moscow Patriarchate for Foreign Institutions , created "to help the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to carry out canonical, archpastoral, administrative, financial and economic care of the foreign institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church ” ^[9] and the temporary administrator of Vienna-Austria and Vienna heroic dioceses ^[10] .

On May 27, 2009 he was appointed a member of the newly formed award commission under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia ^[11] .

February 1, 2010 in the cathedral church of Christ the Savior was elevated to the rank of archbishop ^[12] .

July 26, 2010 in connection with the renaming of the secretariat of the Moscow Patriarchate for foreign institutions in the management of the Moscow Patriarchate for foreign institutions was appointed head of the department ^[13] .

On December 22, 2010, by the decree of the patriarch, it was prescribed to nourish the parish churches of the Assumption Deanery , located within the boundaries of the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow ^[14] .

On April 26, 2011, he was elected deputy chairman of the Conference of Orthodox Bishops of Austria ^[15] .

December 31, 2011 by order of the patriarch entrusted with the management of the North-Western and Northern Vicarities of the city ​​of Moscow ^[16] .

On July 16, 2013, by a decision of the Holy Synod, he was appointed temporary administrator of the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy ^[17] .

On July 25, 2014, he was appointed chairman of the financial and economic department of the Moscow Patriarchate, while temporarily retaining the post of head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for foreign institutions ^[18] .

On October 22, 2015, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was appointed Reverend Ryazan and Mikhailovsky, head of the Ryazan Metropolis , upon his release from the administration of the Vienna-Austrian and Hungarian dioceses and parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy and from the post of head of the Moscow Patriarchate Directorate for Foreign Institutions ^[19] .

On November 3, 2015, by order of Patriarch Kirill, he was relieved of the control of the Northern and North-Western Vicarities of the city of Moscow ^[20] .

November 4, 2015 in the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin, Patriarch Kirill was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan ^[21] .

On February 26, 2019, by decision of the Holy Synod, he was relieved of his post as chairman of the Financial and Economic Department of the Moscow Patriarchate ^[22] . On the same day, by decree of Patriarch Kirill, he was relieved of his post as head of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khoroshev in Moscow ^[23] .
