In August 2015, a merger was announced through the exchange of shares of Terex with the Finnish manufacturer of lifting equipment Konecranes . It was planned that the merger will occur in the first half of 2016 [1] .

History
The company was established in 1925 as a division of General Motors [2] . The first production facilities of the company appeared in 1957 in Hudson, Ohio [3] . Since 1980, Terex has become an independent company [2] .
In the period from 1995 to 1999, the company bought a number of manufacturers of construction equipment from the USA, Europe and Australia. In the 1990s , the holding group included: PPM, American Crane, Peiner, Gru Comedil Srl, Franna, Princeton and Kooi. And in 2002 , after the purchase of German Demag, the company ranked third in the world in the production of tower cranes [3] .
Activity
Terex products include a wide range of machinery and equipment for the road-building, mining, oil-producing, transport, processing industries, as well as utilities. It is sold in more than 170 countries around the world.
The company's revenue for US GAAP for 2010 amounted to $ 4.42 billion, net profit - $ 362.5 million [2] .
