The first name is Magistralnaya Street. The avenue was named in honor of Mikhail Konstantinovich Kurako in 1949. In memory of Kurako, a plate with the text is installed on house number 12 of the avenue: “The avenue is named after the great domain master M.K. Kurako, who lived in Kuznetsk 1917 - 1920. " Prospect Kurako was never the central street of Novokuznetsk, but it had a different, important role. It represents a peculiar border, a link connecting the two oldest districts of the city: Central and Kuibyshevsky. If you look from the side of the station, the left, odd side, refers to the Kuibyshevsky district, and the right, even - to the Central.
Bridge over Abu
The first wooden bridge was built in 1931 over Abu. Then, in its place in 1932, the first all-welded metal bridge was erected in the USSR; it also became the first tram bridge in Siberia.
