Fred Allen (pseudonym, real name John Florence Sullivan - John Florence Sullivan ; May 31, 1894 - May 17, 1956 ) is an American comedian whose absurd radio show ( 1934 - 1949 ) made him one of the most popular comedians in the so-called classic era of American radio.
