Tata Safari is an SUV manufactured by Tata Motors , an Indian automobile company, since 1998. This is the first SUV manufactured entirely in India [1] . Initially equipped with a 1.9 liter turbo diesel with 90 hp. In August 2005, an updated version with a 3.0 liter DiCOR engine appeared (DiCOR is the abbreviation of “Direct Direction Engine”). This engine is the first Tata Motors turbo diesel with Common Rail . In 2006, a Safari with a 2.2 liter DiCOR engine was introduced at the Bologna Motor Show 140 hp, meeting Euro-4 standard, and was launched into production on October 5, 2007. In the UK, the model is sold under the name Tata Leisure .
