Geography

Located in a spacious valley 150 km south-west of Abakan . In 22 km to the southeast is the city ​​of Abaza . There are 62 streets in Tashtyp. Located on the regional road 95K-002 Abakan - Ak-Dovurak . The distance to the nearest train station Abaza is 32 km.

History

Tashtyp was founded in the XVIII century . At first it was a Cossack guard post , which served as a stronghold of defense against the raids of the Dzungars . In addition, he was the outpost of Russian Orthodox culture among the Khakas. At the beginning of the 19th century, the guard post was transformed into a Cossack village . At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries , a number of immigrant peasants from the central provinces of Russia arrived here.

In the early 1920s, the village of Nizhny Imek , Butrakhty , Tashtyp, Bolshoy Bor was founded by the village of Upper Imeq .

Infrastructure

In Tashtyp there are 2 secondary schools, a vocational school, 2 libraries, a museum , the Nativity of Christ Church. The newspapers Zemlya Tashtypskaya and Tashtypsky Vestnik are published.
