About the cartoon
As for Pushkin, state grants for the on-screen embodiment of the image of the poet allowed the classic Leonid Nosyrev, the talented film-maker of the Archangel's tales, Shergin and Pisakhov, to complete the experimental and therefore imperfect work “Pinezhsky Pushkin” (2003). Three peasant women in the far north from the village of Sura retell, sing in their own way the biography of Alexander Sergeyevich. here and his children's antics, and the stories of the boys in the "night" at the coastal fire, and caring for local beauties, and life in St. Petersburg. It is a pity that the playing scenes with the female storytellers are much inferior to the animated scenes, free from textbook cliches painted with colored pencils.
